Nonprofit Life of Learning Foundation, located in Merlin, Oregon, is a Center for Self-Study founded by author Guy Finley in 1993. This school for self-realization teaches the direct path to an enlightened life. Men and women visit Life of Learning from around the world to attend ongoing classes and learn how to let go of harmful negative states such as stress, fear and resentment in favor of a life filled with more love, compassion, and excellence.
The Foundation sits on 14 pristine acres of old growth pine and fir trees, right in the heart of the beautiful Rogue Valley. Visitors are welcome at any time to attend classes, enjoy the higher atmosphere, and meet other students who are working to discover the deeper meaning of their lives.

"If you persist in trying to attain what is never attained (It is Tao's Gift!), If you persist in making effort to obtain what effort cannot get, If you persist in reasoning about what cannot be understood, You will be destroyed by the very thing you seek. To know when to stop, To know when you can get no further by your own action, This is the right beginning! "- Lao Tse
"Who keeps one thing in view makes all things serve. "- Robert Browning
"More radiant than the sun, purer than the snow, subtler than the ether, is the Self, the spirit within my heart. I am that Self, that Self am I. "- Ancient Prayer
"Because every thought enters the heart in the form of a mental image of some sensible object, the blessed light of the Divinity will illumine the heart only when it is completely empty of everything, and so free from all form. Indeed, this light reveals itself to the pure intellect in the measure to which the intellect is purged of all concepts. "- Philokalia
